About
Our World in Data is a collaborative effort between researchers at the University of Oxford, who are the scientific editors of the website content; and the non-profit organization Global Change Data Lab (GCDL), which publishes and maintains the website and the data tools that make our work possible.
GCDL is a registered charity in England and Wales (Charity Number 1186433) and our work is made possible with the donations of individuals and organizations that have made contributions to support our project.
You find our grants, as well as our audited financial statements, in our latest Trustees’ Annual Report.1 In this document, you can also find details about our organizational structure and the most recent report on how we are spending our funds.
We’d especially like to thank the people who donated directly on our website to support our work. It is only through the sum of all these kind collective efforts that our work is possible.
More than 4,000 people have donated over the past couple of years. When donating, we ask each supporter whether they agree to be listed publicly, and most have agreed – here are the names and dedications provided by these readers. We update this donor list quarterly.
Some supporters listed here donated via the crowdfunding campaign in 2015 to “help save OurWorldInData.org” on the crowdfunding platform Tilt.com, which is no longer operative. Other supporters who donated directly to our project preferred to remain anonymous.
Huge thanks to everyone!
