The gender wage ratio in different income percentiles, United States, 1980 to 2010

The gender ratio refers to the raw female-male wage ratio. "Ninetieth percentile" indicates an income higher than that of 90% of the population - thus, forexample, in 2010 a 74% ratio in the ninetieth percentile indicates that the highest earning women made 74% of the hourly wage of the highest earning men.
